Future math teachers ‘knowledge about fair games

This work reports the results of a study whose objective was to analyze didactic-mathematical knowledge future mathematics teachers when solving an unequal game. The sample made up 24 professors from Chilean university. Task-based interviews were used collect information. show that have adequate intuitive ideas about expected value, prioritize classical approach solve situations and determine if game is fair or not, taking into account both probability winning losing game, value gained lost, using few solution strategies, which makes it easier for them combine their statistical thinking with its teachableness. It concludes on need improve teachability probability, in disciplinary didactic aspects, suggesting support teachers, training practice.
